Welcome to Material Girls! Where we always have fun, fabric, and friendship.
Our shop is a family owned and run business. Amy (Daughter) and Robin (Mom) own the store. Mike (Dad) is the certified Bernina technician, Wendy (Daughter), and Seth (Son) also work at the store full time. Keith (Son) is in the Navy and is currently stationed here so he pops in every once in a while to lend a helping hand.
Material
Girls opened in April 2003. We started out in a 1500 square
foot location but soon realized that we were going to need more
space. In July of 2003, we became an Authorized Bernina Sewing
Machine Dealer. With the addition of the world’s best sewing
machines, in April of 2004 we moved to our much larger and current
location, 5000 square feet. We are located on Route 301 North in
LaPlata, MD.
Our store is bright and cheery every day! With over 5,000 bolts to choose from we know you will find just what you are looking for. Our wide aisles are perfect for shopping carts full of goodies or any customers that may have a wheelchair or stroller. We also have chairs for the wonderful significant others who may accompany you to the store.
We are the small town store where our customers are always greeted by name and a hello. If you are a new customer, don't worry, we will soon learn your name too. Please stop by to say hi. We look forward to seeing you soon.
