Bernina Certified Technicians

Please note: We only service Bernina machines.

Our service department is on-site and all service is performed by a Bernina factory certified and trained technician.

We are currently on a 2-3 week turn around time for sewing machine servicing. We have developed a call ahead system. Please call the store prior to coming and we will take your name and number. Then we will call you when it is time to bring it in, and then you should only have to wait 5-7 days as long as there is no complications or need to order parts for your sewing machine. Once we call you to bring the machine in, you will have a few days to bring it in without losing your space. If you just bring in your machine without calling, your machine will go to the bottom of the current list. Thank your for patience and understanding.

Please ONLY Bring the following items with your Bernina Sewing Machine:

  • Foot Control and Power Cord
  • #1 Foot, #3A Foot, and Bernina Stitch Regulator (if you have one)
  •  Regular (5mm or 9mm) stitch plate
  •  Bobbin case with a bobbin.
  • With Embroidery Machines: Embroidery Module, Large Oval Hoop, embroidery bobbin case, and #15 or #26 foot.

At check-in, please make sure to tell us of any problems that you may be having with your machine as well as any samples that would be helpful in diagnosing the issue.

Tips From Our Tech

  • SURGE PROTECTORS ARE A MUST FOR ALL COMPUTER MACHINES! We recommend protection of at least 1000 joules.

  • We do not recommend sewing over pins. You risk breaking a needle which could cause a burr on the hook. If you have a broken needle, be sure to find and remove all broken pieces.

  • Change your needle and oil the hook every 3-4 sewing hours. Do not use a dull or damaged needle.

  • If your needle gets jammed in your fabric, turn off your machine, and remove the needle from the needle bar. Do not use the hand wheel to pry the needle out. It may negatively affect the timing of your machine or damage the hook of your machine.

  • Do not use canned air to clean out the hook area of your machine. Lint flies up and may damage the computer boards.

  • Never use abrasives on the body of the machine or on the touch screen. Any type of mild cleaning agent, such as Formula 409, should be sprayed onto a cloth and then applied to the body of the machine. Never use acetone, mineral spirits, or harsh chemicals.
