Fairy Rings
Fairy Rings began as a sketch based on the traditional double wedding rings pattern, inverting the piecing from the rings into the middle. When the blocks are assembled, a secondary design emerges, reminiscent of the wings of a fairy. Thus, Fairy Rings was born as a twist on the traditional pattern.
It is quite simple to construct but really packs a visual punch. The pattern is a repeating, rotated, 12" block, arranged into groups of four to create the main pattern. By adding repeating groups, the pattern can be adapted to nearly any size quilt.
